Where to Buy
If you're a reader in Australia, you should be able to buy my recent titles at your local bookshop (if you're lucky enough to still have one). All my books are still in print in Australia (that is, booksellers can order them from the publisher). If the shop out of stock of a title (that is, if they just don't have any on the shelves at that moment), they'll order it in for you.
You can also order the books online. Many bookshops now offer this service – you order online and either the book is posted out to you or you pick it up from the shop.
Or you can order them from an online supplier. If you're in Australasia, you can support an excellent local online supplier (and help an Australian family business) by ordering from Booktopia.
Of course, you can also order from one of the international online book suppliers.
Audio versions of many of the books are also available.
If you're ordering online through international businesses (Amazon or Book Depository, for instance) you might like to keep in mind that these businesses usually supply the UK or US edition of the book rather than the Australian one. These overseas editions may be "remainders" (copies declared out of print by the publisher, on which the author earns nothing).
It makes no difference to most readers which edition they get, but it can make a significant difference to the author. International copyright laws mean that the amount the author gets from the sale (usually 10% of the cover price) varies depending on which edition of the book is sold, and where. It's complicated, but what it boils down to is this: Australian authors (and the publishers who support them) benefit most if readers buy the Australian edition of their books rather than a UK or US edition.)
Ebooks are available for many of my books. (Some readers are concerned that authors earn nothing on ebooks, but this isn't correct – the author still earns royalties on ebooks. It's just that the local bookshop – an important part of the literary ecosystem – misses out.)
If you're having problems getting copies of any of the books please contact me.
Many of Kate Grenville's books are available as large print editions and audio books and all the recent titles are available as ebooks. Many have appeared in translations.
